Are you trying to send e-mails from GB32 using CDO via smtp.gmail.com?
Things have changed a bit at Google...
You can still send emails from GB32 but now Google requires your app to provide a 16 chr passcode which they will provide for you after you enable 2-step authentication and manually request Google to generate the passcode.

I used to send email by my own Webserver in PHP.
I logged in by a Windows http XML Funktion.. in the same way to call a website.. then crypt in gb32 email and text, submitted to a .php site, and the php code depuzzled the contents and email ans send.
Okay the ugly thing was to have a php Webserver..
For sure its much easier to have a direct process instead of an external service.
Could be possible that your own mail service can be blocked by other email and data servers because of security reasons. That does not happen if you use pho and the internal email client.
Anyway it's a difficult task to get the complete process permanently to work and run..
