BBC BASIC is a classic programming language. I heard that it had been very successful in UK a lot of years ago.

I looked up and installed BBCSDL for Windows and I felt very comfortable. I could not see how to produce/compile the exe though. It seems one can produce an executable for Win, iOS and Android! That would be nice!

After playing around a bit with the BBCSDL editor and the sample programs I felt like 'a fish out of water'. I realise that is 'my' problem for not knowing enough about BBCSDL.
I was able to get some immediate help from ChatGPT so, that's a 'plus'.
I found the BBCSDL editor to be less impressive compared to the GFA-BASIC 32 for Windows editor (no immediate syntax checking). I found the VDU command sticks out as a bit awkward and rather low-level. As far as I can tell, this is how one opens a windows form in BBCSDL.
I am still curious to find out how easy it might be to create an application for an Android device. It was fun to dip my toe in another ocean for a while. I hope to never stop learning and improving.
If one were interested in the latest and greatest in games, why muck around with Basic? Why not go directly to: "Blender" or "Unity" or others?
I prefer working with simple tools and developing small programs that serve a specific purpose. This way, I can complete the development cycle from idea to completion more easily. I’ve found that larger projects can sometimes feel endless and leave me feeling unfulfilled.

I installed this modern version of BBC BASIC as well. There are various examples in the package. Some examples are really excellent. My programming knowledge is so limited. Well done! Smart! Bad! Good point. I see. I want to hear good news from you. You are a good learner. So diligent. The reason is obvious. Some people don't like the way of developing games in drag and drop tools and they prefer to use pure programming language more. Anyway, drag and drop tools are very popular nowadays. Unity, GameMaker, Construct, Godot and GDevelop are so popular. Your comments on BBCSDL are very useful! I have known a lot about the language from your valuable comments. Android?
That would be absolute amazing.. sharing data from a web-server produced with GB32... to any Android device app.
An app makes it possible to view (not edit) data for a selected person. Like a working schedule.
