Does anyone know of a way to send small bits of data (maybe 2-3 bytes at a time) over the internet to another PC. I used to develop online (modem) games for the Atari ST in the late 80's and early 90's and have recently started converting some of them to GB32 as well as some totally new ones but really like the online idea (being able to play a friend rather than a computer). I would like to be able to do it without the need of a middleman (server). Any help would be appreciated.

No Server/Client... Hmmm, I guess one possibility is to share a file with a specific user over the internet with Full R/W access using something like Google Docs.

I will look into that but it would be great to do it with a direct connection like the old days when we all used modems.

Do you consider the Telnet communication protocol "OK"? It essentially uses Windows Sockets.
