Hey, I got a chance to play ‘120 secs to save the world’.
You’ve done a really cool job with it! It’s clear you’ve got a knack for this.
Keep up the good work and continue to enjoy what you’re doing. Cheers!
This will definitely raise the profile of GFA-BASIC 32 for WINDOWS in the GAME JAM community!
Thank you... That is an awesome picture....

As a "BETA TESTER", I managed a win after 3 or 4 tries! Great game!
You'll be able to try it out next Friday if all goes well with the submission.

I just had my nephew play the game and he was killed 4 games in a row trying to get through the third phase. He finally made it through the game and saved the world on his 5th try. This is basically the results I am looking for. He liked the game...

May I ask a question? I remember that Scalion's games support full-screen mode. Will full-screen mode be added to this entry?

No it will not. Full screen more requires a great deal of adjusting to screens, images, objects, text, etc. as the screen size changes so I opt not to do it for my programs. This way I can create much more elaborate screens. I decide what the best size for that particular game is and create everything to fit it.

There is now a new version of the game jam game on dropbox. Through the suggestion of one of my beta testers I re-wrote the code so that in phase 1 where you need to drop the pegs into the spots to guess the secret code. It now works like regular windows programs in regards to Drag-and-Drop. You pick the peg up with the left mouse button and while holding the button down carry it over to the spot you want to drop it in and let the mouse button go. The instruction page for the first phase as well as the first phase play screen also needed to be redone.

FYI to all. I just put a new version of the game jam game up on DropBox. I fixed an image bug on the phase 1 screen and adjusted the timing and order of the peg placement for the user to start the next row.

Hello...
From my point of view, this game creation adds infinite attraction to our discussion forum.
(I am busy and I will play this game after this game is formally released.)

Good.
It will be interesting to see how it is received - I reckon it will be a hit.
Sorry, I did not get another chance to play the game for numerous reasons.

Yes, good! Strange on this page(https://itch.io/jam/jam-for-all-basic-dialects-6/entries). After "Windows" on the left hand side was clicked, your entry disappeared.

A question. Any plan to write an introduction to GFA-BASIC 32 and about yourself on this page(https://larrybtoys.itch.io/)? The introduction may make some visitors download GFA-BASIC 32.

Not at this time. Even though I'm semi retired I'm super busy with a great deal of computer work getting several clients up to Windows 11. I still have 26 or so PCs to fully image and swap out now that the software upgrades are complete. I'm also am working on 2 other games in my spare time. I did this project because it sounded fun and I really like writing games and wanted to try and give GB32 more exposure however I don't think itch is going to do too much.

Perhaps Xavier will make a cool page for GB32 in the future.

This morning I noticed a 4th entry into the Game Jam for Basic. I know the reason for the entry was to give GB32 more exposure and it may still happen but the newest entry should clearly be disqualified. The person entering the game supposedly wrote his own gaming oriented language which although may certainly be impressive, doesn't make it BASIC just because he claims it is. I also don't see how he followed the theme 120 Seconds at all. Sorry for my rant but I don't like people who lie or cheat. Just play nice!

If it's the same person, I believe he says he's been writing games since he was 11, now 45... It seems the language he used is NaaLaa: based on Basic but I couldn't find further info. His game entry is clearly built on highly polished earlier games he seems to have created. I find his game's goal is to explore and survive for more than 120 seconds but apart from that, and a level 2 there's no clear goal. I've never heard of NaaLaa (Not an advanced language at all) until now! I wonder which Basic it's based on? Can one use Basic syntax and call yourself a Basic language variant? So many questions! Anyway, he's obviously passionate about coding. Might be an interesting person to get to know.

Well perhaps my opinion is a bit lopsided however dog poop doesn't become a brownie just because I say it is. We will see how it is judged over the next 6 days. It should at the very least get GFA Basic 32 noticed. This is what feedback the guy from the contest that supposedly wrote NaaLaa gave me: "The third stage was really hard I had to play the game five times to beat it. Fun, well done!" That was a nice comment!

There she is!
This is a heartfelt milestone and a testament to dedication. Special thanks to yyin for the initial suggestion and to larrybtoys for the hard work and determination. I always thought he said 'mensch', but in my opinion both apply. Well done!
