Hi any and everyone who visits this site and is interested in programming using GFABasic 32.
Attached here is a link to a new GFA Help File (current build 5 6 (updated 5th May 2015)) in the .chm format which should work in Win Vista, 7 and 8. Once you've downloaded this file, right-click on the icon, select Properties and then click the 'UnBlock' button in the Properties box. This will allow you full access to the file.
This file is not currently linked to the GB32 IDE so you will have to open it separately; this is a work-in-progress and will be implemented either internally or through a .GLL sometime in the future.
So, why Build 5? Builds 1 to 4 were used up converting the old .hlp file to the .chm format.
What's the difference? Other than that it runs better on newer Windows OS's, the main improvements are:
- More and more varied examples (which I have tried to proof but there may be one or two that I missed)
- A more modern look with 'GFA-type' print for examples and code
- A few corrections to the original file in both spelling and content
- A new 'Known Issues' section added to keywords where there are known problems (along with workarounds, if one has been found).
Is there anything left to do? Lots! And here you can help: if you find any mistakes (including spelling, etc), or there are known issues not included, or there's a missing keyword, or you think some of the pages should be expanded, or...well, anything that will improve help file, leave a post on this board.

Hi again,
For those wishing to access the new Help File from within GFA, attached is a functioning .GLL which allows you to do just that by pressing Alt-F2:
GfaNewHelpAF2.gll (197 B)
For those who do not know how to install a .GLL:
1. Download the file and place it in the GFABASIC32\gb32\bin folder (along with GFAWin32.chm). 2. To add the .GLL, open GB32, open the 'Extra' menu and select Extension Manager (or simply press Ctrl-M). 3. From the Extension Manager pop-up, click 'Add', select the GFANewHelpAF2.gll file and select Open. 4. Then close the Extension Manager, press Alt-F2 and ...voilĂ !
For those who do, the .GLL looks for GFAWin32.chm (the new Help File) in the GFABASIC\gb32\bin - the same folder as the old GFAWin32.hlp file.
If you have any problems with this, let me know.
