Some decades ago I converted this game to GFABasic for Atari ST. It was 100% graphically identical and playable like the original. It owns about > 35 levels I guess. To build this now on PC with gb32 and d2d is not that difficultly.
I remember a simple trick to prevent transparency.. All the graphics use opaque backgrounds and all Elements fits well. I like to do this at anytime for PC in GB32.
With this version you can draw on the screen... I am just testing if I can create 3D lines, editing will come later.
For freehand drawing, Hold the Shift key while Left-clicking. For Point to Point just left mouse button down to start, drag and up to finish.
You may notice that the lines are drawn in multiple sub-segments that permits a "fish-eye" projection that accounts for wide angle viewing. This can be usefull to match real camera captures and could be turned off in favour of ortho-linear projection if desired.
