Oui, en effet ! Et c'est bien dommage, car j'aimerais en apprendre un peu plus sur GFA-Basic. Yes indeed ! And it's a pity because I' would like to learn more about GFA-Basic. I'm using FBSL too, which is an interpreted Basic script language, consequently slower than GFA (but one of the fastest in its category). And I can't get used to PureBasic (disconcerting syntax, missing functions or commands ...), not enough anyway to buy the license. The demo version is quite sufficient for me. I'm not a pro and I don't intend to market the modest and useless programs I made. I'm just a hobbyist and only try to have fun ... and I start getting more fun with GFA, easier to use.

Yes, actually I use GFA basic since it became available on the ATARI ST. I did research how people evaluated a support system, therefore I wrote a program to practice the game of bridge. Recently I transformed it using GB 32 for another reason

It's interesting how many people seem to have migrated from the Atari ST with the GFA bug. I must admit to taking a Microsoft VB sabbatical but have returned to GFA because it is, in many instances, quicker and easier to program.
So drfjm, you wrote a Bridge program in GFA. Did that include an AI as an opponent?

When working at the "Center for Innovation and Co-operative Technology" of the 'Universiteit van Amsterdam' I developed a program to research the reactions of bridge players when a program was offered to enhance their bridge playing capabilities. The software was developed on an ATARI computer equipped with the GFA Basic programming language. I am writing a book about basic, actually the second edition of my thesis about obsolete programming languages, this edition concentrates on the programming language Basic.

I converted my gb16 software to gb32 format with a better user interface for designing enterprise networks. It employs many proprietary algorithms developed since 1984. I want my Vista software to allocate more RAM to my software. In Global Dimension statements, I can't make my array L&(32000,16) larger than that. Any ideas?

If its cool to have worked with ancient GFA versions, I am able to compete, started with Amiga GFA and GFA for Dos, they both have been milestones. I am from somewhere near Kassel, Germany
